Andy Selected to Represent England

Congratulations to Andy Heyes who has been selected to represent England at the Home International cross country championships at Wollaton Park, Nottingham, on Saturday 22 March 2014.

Tilly 3rd at Intercounties Cross Country Championships, Cofton Park, Birmingham

HHS athletes helped Yorkshire win the overall Intercounties cross country title with some fine individual performances.

Andy Heyes consolidated his fine performance at the Nationals with an excellent 4th place in the senior men’s race to lead home the Yorkshire team. In an exciting race, with changes of position on each lap, Andy finished strongly to move into 4th and complete the 12k course in 34.30. Rob Little was the 4th Yorkshire counter with a strong run to finish 95th in 37:36.

Julia Jagger produced a very strong final lap to finish 39th in the senior women’s race in 30:36.

Tom Bains showed that he is returning to form after illness finishing 20th in the U20M race and helping Yorkshire to the silver team medal.

Connor Milnes had one of his best races of the winter, finishing 53rd in the U17M race in 19:54.

Charlotte Slack ran a controlled race to finish 81st in 22:05 in the U17W race with Rebecca Dancer 135th in 22:53.

Cameron Bell reinforced his fine run at the National finishing 11th in the U15B race in 16:37 and help Yorkshire to the silver team medal.

Tilly Simpson produced an outstanding run to finish 3rd in the U13G race. In 2nd place for much of the race, Tilly produced a strong finish on the final climb to take the bronze medal in 11:35. Eve Crownshaw coped well with the muddy conditions and fast downhill sections, coming home in 13:04 for 125th.

England Athletics U15/U17/U20 Championships, EIS Sheffield

Tilly Simpson was 4th in the U15G 800m final with an excellent pb of 2:17.03.

Essa Ahmed was 4th in the final of the U17M 800m in 2:00.28, having qualified 3rd in his heat in 2:01:53.

Adeel Khaliq improved his pb to 7.17 to finish 7th in his heat of the U20m 60m.

James Lee cleared 1.81 in the U17m high jump to take 9th, with Thomas Hughes in 10th in 1.77. Thomas Hughes was also 12th in the long jump with 5.49. Oscar Bryce was 7th in the shot with 12.67.


Reading Half Marathon

imageAndy Challenger ran a new pb of 69:21 to finish 38th at the Reading half marathon in windy conditions. Ben Beattie was 76th in 1:13:04 with Phil Cooper 107th in 1:14:57.
